Starlisa Lassiter, MSW, LCSW-A
“Our mental health is much like our physical health; we need checkups, even if we feel fine, and when we don’t feel okay, we seek assistance from professionals to help us feel like ourselves again. I think of therapy as a “happy place” where you can close your eyes and envision yourself at your favorite vacation spot, where you feel safe and have peace of mind.
My name is Star, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate. I graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Human Development of Family Studies from UNCG; I also minored in Psychology. While at UNCG, I worked with youth experiencing emergency crises due to out-of-home placement. I graduated from North Carolina State University with a Master's in Social Work. I have experience working with populations such as individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, in addition to individuals and families who have experienced homelessness and trauma. I use unconditional positive regard to guide my interactions with clients. I approach each client with respect and empathy. As previously stated, we must continue to have “checkups” for our mental health and I hope you trust me with your mental health checkups.”
